An absolute joy to look at and read; a beautiful source of inspiration and information. : I am a very beginning potter (6 months, in fact) and as a beginner, I often get tense and anxious when I try to throw a pot, but this book has become a remarkable source of calm for me as well as a vital source of information that has helped me to become more successful in my pottery.

A brilliant book packed with information : Kara has written an amazing book! I'm a potter with 6 years experience and found this book packed with essential basics as well as more advanced information. Her writing style is clear, and her photos are gorgeous (as is her pottery). If you are looking for a perfect book for pottery beginners, this is the one!

Perfect! : This book is perfect for me! I’ve been out of pottery for almost a year now, I wasn’t that great to begin with, but I know this is going to be perfect for me for when I can get back in to it. There are a few shapes I need help with, and I know this book will help me with them. Kara is an absolute sweet heart with a beautiful soul, and she shares every little detail you need to know! If you’ve never sat at the wheel before, you will know what to do with this book. She is so detailed and all the pictures will help! Great buy! And the book itself is beautiful!

Perfect Step-by-step for Beginner Potters : After going full-on pottery over the course of the last year on my own, it’s nice to finally have a comprehensive step-by-step guide to the basics. This book breaks down projects in easy to follow steps for beginner potters who either have a wheel or not. The photos are gorgeous and I can’t wait to make everything in this book!

A wonderful pottery for beginners book : I am a self-taught potter and are very happy that I found this book. It fills a lot of knowledge caps for me. It explains all the basics a potter should need and more. I can highly recommend this book. It is well written and very well structured. It is suitable for handbuild as well as wheel throwing skills. For me the detailed explanation of the centering, coning and the cylinder form on the wheel are very important. But also all the information about the drying, firing and glazing process are very well explained.

This was the pottery book I have been waiting for. : This is the pottery book I have been waiting g for. And I've been throwing for several years. The photos are great, and looking forward to getting to the glazing and firing sections. Having watched many of Kara's videos, this is a great text companion for additional reference.

A must have, written with love and generosity : A must have! Kara has written this wonderful book with love and generosity, sharing all she could share about her passion and profession. For beginners in pottery, like me, but also for many others more experienced who need a new source of ideas, tips and inspiration this is certainly a book to have in the library. Things are explained in a very clear way, in a clear effort to help the reader understanding and also putting into practice what is written. And then the pictures and the whole design of the book is fantastic… just as Kara’s pottery.
